Best known as of Lovita Alizay Jenkins on the WB’s ‘The Steve Harvey Show,’ today Terri J. Vaughn is doing some truely powerful things with her celebrity. She’s the founder of ‘Take Wings Foundation’ a non profit where she focuses on the trials and tribulations of for at-risk girls, she’s the creator of ‘Angels Can’t Help but Laugh’, a documentary laced with African American actresses from Hollywood sharing their struggles in ‘Tinseltown’ and recently Terri launched a video blog entitled ‘The Real TV’ where she interacts with her fans about everyday struggles. When I recently talked Terri, we chatted as if we were old friends. She truly personifies a woman that’s comfortable in her own skin. Although she may dispute that fact right now; maintaining that’s she’s on a journey, her humble and intentional decision to become a better woman, wife, friend, mother and human being, proves that’s she’s successfully moving in the right direction. During our conversation, we discussed all of the current projects she’s working on that contribute to her journey as well as growing up in a housing project in Hunter’s Point in San Francisco, the devastation of her first marriage, being a new mom, women-to-women relations and her new marriage. |
