Jonathan Nelson and Wife Welcome New Baby Girl!

Baltimore-based singer-songwriter, Jonathan Nelson, has enjoyed seven weeks at #1 on Billboard’s gospel singles chart as vocalist and co- songwriter for Youth for Christ’s smash hit “The Struggle is Over” (Emtro Gospel). Now, the rising gospel star is basqing in the success of another hit collaboration, his new daughter.

Nelson and his wife, Christina, just welcomed the birth of their second child on Thursday, November 9, 2006 in Baltimore, MD. Their daughter, Juliana Marie, weighed in at 8 lbs and 12 ounces.

The couple also has a son, Jonathan Andrew II, who is six years old.

Nelson won the Stellar award for songwriter of the year in 2005 for the song, “I’m Healed” as recorded by Donald Lawrence. Nelson has written hits such as “Bettah” (Larry Trotter), “The Right Place” (Rudolph McKissick), “Manifest” (Bishop T.D. Jakes), “Great Praise” (Stephen Hurd) and “You Mean the World to Me” (DeWayne Woods).

On Friday, December 1, 2006 @ 7:00 PM, nelson will record a live CD at the Empowerment Temple in Baltimore, MD. Admission is free.
