Ben Tankard - Christmas Love
It would be appropriate to describe Ben Tankard as the quintessential artist/musician/producer…the type of artist appreciated by other talented artists within the same music family…in the same vein as the legendary Stevie Wonder, the eccentric Jimi Hendrix and (I must go there) the unpredictable Prince.
But unlike his contemporaries, Brother Tankard has taken complete joy in creating music solely to honor his creator.
In his latest efforts, Ben has released the sleeper of the holiday season with Christmas Love (Verity).
While the industry and season has toasted Yolanda's Christmas project with eggnog and mistletoes, Ben Tankard quietly released an eleven-track Yuletide treasure to mark the birth of our Lord and Savior.
But, what makes this Christmas gift special - apart from the carefully crafted chords that are standard Tankard traits - are the original selections written by the minstrel himself.
"Christmas Love", "Let's Have Christmas" & "Minstrel's Christmas Song" are all a testament to the enormous creative energy that emerges to the forefront with each release.
In fact, half of the album features original selections composed by the head musician. And, if your fancy is to recall the classic carols of yesterday, Ben has added his take on selections like "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "My Favorite Things".
Over the years, Ben has repeatedly demonstrated an uncanny ability to make the free flowing sound of instrumental Gospel music appear easy, fun-loving and universally appealing through a string of instrumental recordings that can only be characterized as Ben-eficial, Ben-sational & Ben-credible.
Christmas Love is no exception - providing a perfect backdrop for family and friends getting together over the holidays.
For those of you with a few extra dollars from the Christmas season, pick up your copy of Christmas Love from Ben Tankard…it will come in handy for next year's holiday cheers.
