New Birth
by Darwin.Hobbs on Thu Sep 29, 2005 9:50 am
Hey All,

It's been quite an eventful weekend. I really should apologize for taking so long to hit you guys up again but, I've been so inundated with preparatory things for the release of Worshipper tomorrow. I'm so very excited about the favor of God upon this project.

Yesterday, we held a presale at New Birth (my church) that was extremely successful. I'm so appreciative of the people of New Birth...they were amazingly supportive of Worshipper. Also, Bishop Long was over the top in the area of "suggestive selling"!!! Very Happy

Right now, I'm getting ready to rest up for this evening's listening party that CJ Jimerson (EMI Marketing Dir) planned. It's going to be at Fuego Cafe in Midtown Atlanta. Also, I'm a bit worn out from all the radio interviews. This morning I was up at 6am talking about Worshipper...but hey, it's a great album! lol

Ok, 'm going to lay down and make myself rest up! GO TO THE STORES TOMORROW GUYS AND BUY WORSHIPPER!!!!! YOU WON'T BE SORRY! IT'LL ENHANCE YOUR LIFE. I PROMISE!

Peace

Hey guys,

Sorry it's been a minute. I'm typin' on my 2way...so I'll be brief....and for the record....I HATE EMAILING ON THESE DEVICES, because I like to run my mouth...and its hard to type fast on this thing.

I'm boarding a plane to Los Angeles to tape a TV One show. I'm soooooooo tired! Pray for my strength and stamina. Love you guys...and I'll hit you back tomorrow sometime.

Never go to bed mad....STAY UP AND FIGHT!

Spirit And Truth...
by Darwin.Hobbs on Thu Sep 15, 2005 12:30 pm
I've just come out of one of the most amazing conferences I've ever attended. You know, with the growing number of gatherings like this in the body of Christ, they seem to be becoming more and more frivolous as it relates to their impact upon the hearts of those who attend them....NOT THE CASE FOR THIS YEARS SPIRIT AND TRUTH CONFERENCE AT NEW BIRTH. I must say, the stand outs for me where Bishop Tudor Bismark and Bishop Walter Scott Thomas. Actually, Bishop Walter was UNBELIEVABLE. He spoke about "depression" and "the spirit of heaviness".

It was so ON POINT! It wasn't so "deep" and "ethereal" that you couldn't grasp its meaning and apply it to your life. I appreciated his "down to earth" posture as well. New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore is certainly blessed to have such a powerhouse of a man to lead them....and quite humble to boot.

Well, I'm headed to the D.C./Richmond, VA area today to promote "Worshipper". Later today, I'll be doing some radio interviews and taping BET's Lift Every Voice with Gerard Henry. Tomorrow, I'll be taping the Bobby Jones Gospel Show. This weekend (since I probably won't blog again until sometime on Monday guys) I'll also be celebrating with some radio announcers in Richmond for their anniversary on Saturday night. Then, on Sunday morning...I'll be at Mt. Gilead church.

Next week, I'll be in Charlotte, NC at New Birth Charlotte with Pastor Terrell Murphy for a couple of days...then, I fly to L.A. for a taping with Jeff Majors of TVONE. So guys, I need your prayers desperately. Its a busy week ahead of me... but its all for the love of the ministry.

I'll talk again on Monday sometime.

Love Ya...Dee

Teaching...
by Darwin.Hobbs on Tue Sep 13, 2005 5:30 pm
We just started the Spirit and Truth Conference here at New Birth in Atlanta. its already been quite an experience. This morning I taught a class on Worship... IT WENT GREAT! I am convinced that many people needed to hear what I shared on the subject matter. God is faithful. We're getting closer to the release of Worshipper... I'm terribly excited. I just believe God will do miraculous things with this album. God is so faithful! Speaking of him being FAITHFUL... I invite you guys to check out "Forever"... the third song on Worshipper.

No matter how UNfaithful we are to God and the relationship we have with Him, He still remains FAITHFUL. He still remains STRONG... He still remains WITH US... GO FIGURE???? I can hardly believe how faithful He is at times. So, give it a listen...and SING PRAISE!

GREAT IS THE FAITHFULNESS OF THE LORD! FOREVER!

I Hear Angels Singing
by Darwin.Hobbs on Mon Sep 12, 2005 9:26 am
As I sit here in my office at home in front of the pc... I can hear what to my ears sounds like the voice of an angel! At times, it's out of tune, and doesn't offer all the fancy "runs" and "licks"... but it brings my heart to a rousing posture of gratitude, praise, reverence, and worship.

My wife Traci, an Administrative Assistant, NOT A SINGER BY ANY MEANS, is SINGING "Jesus, Jesus, Jeeeeeeesus, there is something about that Name!". She's actually washing dishes simultaneously. Why washing by hand? Go figure, because we have a brand new home with a nice dishwasher but she thinks she's Martha Stewart!

Earlier today, I didn't feel well...some days are better than others, but until my complete and total healing has manifested, I have to walk through the process of feeling less than 100% some days. Anyways, Traci doesn't even know it, but as she proclaims the power of Jesus' name throughout our home... right now, I can feel the healing virtue of Christ permeating my being. I feel very safe and calm...encouraged and sanguine. NOW, she has began to sing the song of the Lord... just different words...it's hard to hear what she's saying but its all about "oh Lord... we worship...", something like that. I don't want to interrupt her...she doesn't know I'm paying any attention to her. If anybody wants to know what it's like to be in the company of an absolute ANGEL...spend just one moment with my precious wife...Traci Hobbs.

Good night... until next time,

Just In From Church... What A Night!
by Darwin.Hobbs on Thu Sep 08, 2005 10:01 am
I started not to go because I just didn't feel like it. No sense in lyin'... I wasn't feelin' it tonight y'all. Just wanted to chill at home with the wifey...but, I pressed my way. Bishop Long ended up callin' me up to sing. He encouraged all the peeps there to support Worshipper too, so that was good. I can't believe what I thought would be a stress filled night of "forced corporate worship" ended up being a huge blessing. One of my best friends from childhood Leanne Palmore went with me. She's here in Atlanta on music biz... Lou (as I call her) sings with CeCe Winans and was here for a TBN taping last night. She's also staying over to do some overdubs for the upcoming Juanita Bynum album. So, we had a great time at church to say the least.

I shared with Lou an acronym the Lord gave me for FEMA while sitting in church...FAITH that ENDURES through MUCH AFFLICTION. This whole Katrina thing has got me asking hard questions of God. And y'all please spare me the whole surprise bit about me asking God questions. HE CAN HANDLE ANY QUESTION I HAVE. Katrina has caused me to re-examine everything on my IMPORTANT THINGS AND PEOPLE LISTS. Really, just as Jesus kinda compartmentalized people... like the multitude, then the 12, then the one who laid on his breast (the closest), etc... I do the same with people and things in my life. I have people that I categorize as "the multitude", which are people that I don't have "intimate" relationship with...you know.. just passerbys. Then I have the "12" (like the 12 disciples)...which represent my close friends who I might talk to periodically (immediate family,etc)...then, I have who I call my "covenant partners". I only have like 2 or 3 people like this in my life. These people I like to consider myself at 100% with. By that I mean they know 100% of the inner workings of Darwin. NO MASKS, NO PRETENSE, NO FAKIN IT...NO RELIGIOUSITY...NO "EBO SHONDA KELYAH BO TAY"... ITS JUST...simple and plain, honest and true Darwin. Who are these people in your life? Think about it... I guarantee you this... after careful consideration, you'll be doing some shifting and moving around of folk. Its so funny to listen and watch people try to occupy space in my life as a covenant partner, when in my mind...they are STRAIGHT MULTITUDE! LOL... aight, I'm sleepy...hit you guys up tomorrow. One love!

What's really going on?
by Darwin.Hobbs on Tue Sep 06, 2005 5:56 pm
I ask this question of myself and all that are reading this blog. Sup guys? Its me Darwin...chillin at the PC.

Well, the time is almost...time for me to birth the musical baby I've been carrying since...well, since before time began! How weird is that some of you may think...but its the truth. My new album Worshipper is the album I was destined to make. It is full of who I am in God. Its my fullest and most accurate expression (musically) of my relationship with the Father. So, what's REALLY goin' on... I'll tell you.. I'M WALKING IN MY DESTINY!

What about you?

If you're anything like me, for the time being, you're inundated with t.v. news blasts surrounding Hurricane Katrina and her most recent battery of the Gulf states. If I could meet Katrina, I'd ask her why? Why so many children? Why so much water? Why so much calamity? Couldn't you have subsided into a small storm before reaching the coast? But, since I can't very well ask a tropical storm "questions"... I have to resolve the GOD IS SOVEREIGN...and ultimately possesses a huge method and plan in lieu of all the madness. I'm praying hard for all that are affected by Katrina...I'm praying for the state of our country in the coming days. I wonder what the stories really are...and what'll really be exposed as the thousands begin to tell their stories of waiting for help that took so long to arrive.

Oh...I guess I should be talkin' more about Worshipper (my new album) huh? Well, forgive me, but with all thats going on around us... the release of my new album just seems to pale in comparison to the lost lives of thousands of innocent, beautiful human beings. Don't worry, we'll have plenty of time to blog about many many fun and exciting things... but for now... take out the keys to your house...look at them... AREN'T YOU GRATEFUL YOU DIDN'T SLEEP ON A DIRTY COT LAST NIGHT?
