Interviews
New: Joe Pace chats with GospelCity!
Gospelcity talked with Grammy, 8-time Dove, and 7-time Stellar nominated songwriter, producer, artist, director and author Joe Pace about his new project Praise for the Sanctuary, his book From Performance to Praise, and more.
Gospelcity: How did you get your start in the gospel music industry?
Joe Pace: Well I’ve been doing music for quite some time. I was the minister of music growing up in the church. I’ve been in the church all of my life. My real introduction professional in gospel music was with the Colorado Mass Choir. That actually came about after a workshop in the Colorado Springs area where I was doing a workshop with the late James Moore. After that we were offered a deal with a label then called Benson Records. That was back in 1995 when that took placed. God moved very quickly from there.
GC: It has been 3 years since your last CD project. Give us the background about your new project.
JP: The new project is Joe Pace Presents Praise for the Sanctuary. I’m the principle writer. I wrote everything on the project and produced the project as well. We have Issac Carree from Men of Standard and the 2008 Inaugural Season winner of BET’s Sunday Best Crystal Aiken as our guests on the project. We are really excited about them participating on this project. And again we are excited about what the project is doing and saying hopefully to continue to advance the Kingdom. The project is released on October 19, 2010. It will be released with the CD and with an accompanied DVD. We are excited that both CD and DVD is coming out at the same time. It was recorded live in Dayton Ohio. We are excited about the concept and being back after three years.
GC: Being an awarding winner songwriter, where do you get your inspirations for your songs?
